To dare to be happy
You have to endure the pain
Until it goes away

Hopefully what's left of you
Will still be able to feel it

sucinto

vazio
se preenche
com o quê?

Possibly Maybe(Björk)

Who knows what's going to happen?
Lottery or car crash?
Or you'll join a cult...

This year

E este ano, strangely enough, I'm the main focus here... Hard to deal with that...
There's not much to make me look the other way... No reason for me not to look at myself... Take a minute... better yet... take 8 more months... but REALLY take a look at yourself... for real... No joke... it's time...
Let go of the scared little kid you used to be... he survived... defied a lot of odds, that's for sure... But the worst HAS passed... Well I mean... It must have, right?
Oh dear here we go again... Why so scared? It's not the end of the world if every single thing doesn't turn out exactly as you envisioned, you know... Most of the time that's actually a good thing... To be surprised.
Is this the problem? Not liking to be surprised? Why do I freeze?
Why does my mind go all over the place the moments I need to be focused the most?
Why do I tend to fast foward so many situations? Why is the current moment so unbearable?

note to self...

Don't try too hard to be smart and witty... The goal is to express myself freely... To to make something others would enjoy reading... LET GO FOR ONCE!

Trying to keep up!

Ok, so I forgot about writing for a while... Some willpower I must have, huh?
Well at least I'm still trying... Thugh I still haven't quite figured out the point of this...
One of the many things I realized lately is that I tend to over rationalize things a lot. And when I start to go on and on inside my head I tend to forget my senses... What I'm feeling and stuff like that. I need to be more grounded somehow.
I initially thought this could help me do that, but then again... Couldn't it end up making me go even deeper inside my head, instead of focusing on other parts of me? Maybe that's where the poetry part kicks in, to illustrate inner quieter parts of myself.
Because let's face it, writing has always had some sort of therapeutic effect on me, wether I realized it or not. So I might as well try to make it an official tool and make the most use of it(Apparently this is my rational side screaming at the top of its lung again...).
NEVERTHELESS... It does make a point.

Bitter...

tanto o ruim quanto o bom."

O cagaço do primeiro passo...
Pegando impulso vasculhando o passado
Para nos propulsionar mais longe no futuro
Quebrando a barreira de tempo e espaço.

Mas como diabo medir tais passos?
Passos curtos, apressados e firmes?

You can never have enough of a good thing" né?
Thank God I'm in therapy(I''l go back and forth on the language as my whimsical mind wishes... after all the main purpose of all this is to satisfy my need to express myself, as freely as written words possibly can.). I'm definetly miles ahead of where I used to be. But then again... am I really? And even if I'm not, is it really that bad?
I guess part of the whole problem is that I tend to overestimate what I should have accomplished by now(not only carrer wise but also self-knowledge wise) and how badly I tend to freeze whenever I realize I show myself as less than perfect(I know when I say it like that it sounds silly but it really is a problem).
But... is my objective here just to whine about stuff I've been thinking about and discussed in therapy? I don't think it would amuse me for that much long... After all, what inspired me to start this was actually a chance to reconnect with poetry and that little bit of art that I had going on through those more troubled years. As I said, I don't need it as badly now... but I guess I just felt nostalgic.
It was also a part of my life. Not just a coping mechanism... It sort of defined me... at least a part of me... Maybe part of my problem is that I lost the poetry in life... or maybe it is that I should just stop going on "Maybes" so often... Whatever, I still may have a ponit here...
Poetry used to really move me. As does dancing freely nowadays... Or really connecting to a patient, his family or his life story...
I really need more of THAT in my life. Being moved. By the core.
So... let's see if the poetry gates kindly open to me... Here's for hoping they do... and that they actually make a difference...(8
